Welcome to my blog, Untold Eats

My name is David. The purpose of this blog is not to review foods from faraway places or even Michelin-star restaurants. I want to show that anyone can cook at home through my own successes and failures. Believing that if you cook enough and become familiar with your own kitchen cooking becomes significantly easier. We don’t really learn the recipes we follow but the techniques we have to use. Apply those techniques to the next meal you make.

I gain an extreme amount of satisfaction from cooking dishes that I have never done or even eaten before! Creating this site is a way for me to explore this further and provide you with my thoughts along the way. What worked, what didn’t, what I would change next time.

I am in no way akin to the words professional chef. I have no degree, safety training, or professional work experience. However, I believe we can apply some common sense when cooking to meet some level of food safety. Let’s not touch everything on our counters before washing our hands when raw chicken is in play, yeah?

My favorite term growing up was “doctoring” whatever we had for our meals. Salt, Pepper, Garlic, common herbs, and even a little red pepper flakes can make a huge difference with the jar of pasta sauce off the supermarket shelf.

I don’t expect to put out a new post daily or even weekly. This is a hobby of mine. Life gets in the way and I have to pay bills. The goal I have in mind that I hope to see fruitful would be to provide you with something bi-weekly. In the form of something “doctored”, something I come up with on a whim, or a well-planned dish that I have never cooked before.

If you have any suggestions, please don’t hesitate to let me know your thoughts.
